DALLAS – April 1, 2002 – HQ Global Workplaces, the nation’s largest provider in the business center industry, today announced another cost- and time-saving initiative for companies with the launch of HQ VoiceWorks, a unique audio and web conferencing package designed to provide companies with conferencing capabilities any time day or night without the assistance of an operator. The HQ VoiceWorks program is 70 percent less than that of leading providers such as AT&T, Sprint and WorldCom.

Audio Conferencing

Audio conferencing works any time, anywhere, from any phone, with one dial-in number that is available 24/7. The service is automated so no reservations are necessary and the customer does not have to rely on operators. Participants simply dial the private number issued to HQ clients and enter the password.

HQ’s audio conferencing costs up to 70 percent less than other carriers such as AT&T, which charges 59 cents per minute and has a $4 set-up fee per line; Sprint, which costs 46 cents per minute and has a $3 set-up fee per line; and WorldCom, which charges 56 cents per minute with no set-up fee.  HQ VoiceWorks costs only 19 cents per minute and does not require a set-up fee. 

Web Conferencing

Web conferencing is ideal for work sessions, training seminars and client reviews and can also be combined with traditional videoconferencing when an in-person, face-to-face meeting is needed. With 3,000 locations worldwide, HQ offers the world’s largest public room videoconferencing network.

Offered in conjunction with an audio conference, web conferencing enables participants to share documents and work collaboratively on the Web, in real time, during a conference call. Clients can conduct Web tours, utilize interactive chat and messaging, as well as HQ’s innovative white-boarding feature to immediately share ideas on the computer screen. In addition, web conferencing offers audience polling, Q&A “Raise Your Hand” opportunities and Web browser sharing capabilities.  The service can be accessed with a PC, a phone line and basic Internet access. 

At 35 cents a minute, Web conferencing is a cost-effective, long-distance training and product demonstration tool.  It is also an effective alternative to business travel, which can average $1,470 for a one-day business trip per person, according to The National Business Travel Association and Runzheimer's Guide to Daily Travel.
